Player Benefits
The Miracle League of Central Illinois was developed for you to have fun playing baseball with other kids. When you play, you can:
- Make new friends!
- Play baseball in a supportive environment.
- Have fun with your own “buddy” who will help you play!
- Attend all functions/fundraisers of The Miracle League to see your teammates and to support the organization!
How to be a player for The Miracle League of Central Illinois:
Ask your parent or guardian to complete our Player Registration Form.
Parent/Guardian Expectations:
We need your support with Miracle League of Central Illinois games and activities. Your enthusiasm and participation helps make the experience more fulfilling for your child. We need you to:
- Attend every game and cheer on your favorite player along with the others!
- Be at the games with your child for support, assistance and safety/security.
- Attend and invite your family and friends to all functions and fundraisers that The Miracle League holds.
Volunteer
The Miracle League of Central Illinois offers a range of valuable volunteer opportunities. By dedicating just a few hours of your time, you can significantly impact an individual's life, while also cultivating a sense of positive awareness within yourself.
A crucial aspect of The Miracle League is the "buddy" system – pairing each player with an able-bodied friend who assists them on and off the field during a two-inning game. This guidance is heartily provided by coaches, organization leaders, and family members. We are seeking individuals who are eager to contribute their time, whether a little or a lot, to support us in this role. Buddies can be peers from school, parents, college or high school students, athletes, business leaders, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or any individual or group willing to volunteer their time to offer the gift of baseball and a smile that resonates with everyone.
There are a few simple rules for our program. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and possess enthusiasm and compassion for the ideals and players of The Miracle League. We provide affidavits for those who need to fulfill volunteer hour requirements.
Becoming a buddy, you'll find yourself deeply moved by how much you are needed and appreciated by the kids and their families.
